World Reflexology Week

Reflexologist Lyn Franklin explains some of the benefits of reflexology and discusses World Reflexology Week and why if you are new to the practice it’s a great time to find out more.

Every year in the last week of September, reflexologists around the world organise events to promote and raise awareness of our wonderful therapy.

We hold events so you can experience the benefits of reflexology for yourself by providing taster sessions, either for free or for a small donation to charity.

It’s more important than ever to stay healthy and look after our immune system – this is where reflexology can play a significant role.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the theory that different points on the feet, lower leg, hands, face or ears correspond with different areas of the body.  Reflexologists believe that working these points, usually on the feet, encourages the whole body to work more efficiently, releasing tension, aiding relaxation, improving mood, sleep and personal wellbeing.

Good health plays a vital part in our overall wellbeing and depends upon the fine balance of the various body systems.  Feelings of tension, stress and anxiety can have a detrimental effect and impact our health and day to day life in so many ways.

Reflexology is wonderfully calming and relaxing offering much needed time-out from today’s fast pace of life – it allows time to de-stress and be still.  People often report sleeping better and feeling happier in themselves after treatment….so why not give reflexology a go!
